How To Mine 1 BURST Per Week
The bottom line: It isn't worth the time to use these anymore, other than maybe learning the basics of mining. I joined Eligius for a week with a USB miner I got as a gift. I hadn't done mining before, so I thought it would be fun to learn. Eligius has a payout threshold before you receive any coin, set at 0.16 BTC right now. It would have taken another 4 months of mining to get there, if the difficulty didn't increase at all! All in all, a week of mining earned me about 85 cents. I know this isn't a shock to anyone, but we've seen some folks here recently who are buying these just to 'help the network.'
Bitfury Syscoin SYS Mining. It's a nice sentiment, but the technology has just moved too quickly for them to be viable. One last note: Anyone looking to buy a USB miner? I'll sell it dirt cheap. Edit: I've already had multiple people make offers for my USB miner. Can I ask a serious question? Based on these stats, why are people still buying these? I think they're great to learn mining on, but I doubt everyone buying these is just getting them for educational purposes.
I'm not a math whiz, but unless you purchase these for a couple dollars there's almost no chance of them every having a positive ROI, especially when you consider the opportunity cost of just buying BTC directly. So what is driving demand here?

The energy requirement for Burstcoin mining is minimal compared to. And the average mining payoff was 21 burst per week per terabyte (then worth 1.7 US. They say you can mine burst on even an android smartphone but I can't seem to. Doing QnD math means you're looking at maybe 1 coin per week in reward if you find. Is it still worth mining Burst?
