Not sure about nvidia Cards. 280x and 7970 are not good for ethereum mining anymore due to vram. Monero is also an alternative, but i don't know much about that one. For ethereum i recommend 4gb or 8gb, but ethereum is maybe switching to Pos (Proof of stake) from PoW (Proof of work) soon.
